Sonja Twilliey, RN, MSN, District V, President
Sonja Twilliey, RN, MSN is a Clinical Liaison for Regency Hospital of Meridian. Currently serving as District V president. She began her career in health care by working at Anderson North Campus as Student Nurse Assistant. Since that time, she has logged nearly 16 years of experience in various areas of patient care (Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery, Geriatrics, critical care nurse, and case management).
In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Sonja also has an outstanding academic background that includes Associate Degree in Nursing from Meridian Community College (2002), a BSN in nursing from University for Women (2012) and a Master of Science in Nursing from William Carey University (2013). She is currently working on her MBA at William Carey University with anticipated graduation date of December 2017.
Goals for the District V:
1.Visibility in the community
2. Educate and address health care issues and health care disparities
3. Promote healthy lifestyles.
Events, Activities & News
The annual PEARL Health Fair was held March 19, 2016 at The East Mississippi Electric Power Association with 104 participants, 23 vendors and 12 Eliza members’ volunteers. District V partnered with several organizations and churches to promote this event. They provided blood pressure, Glucose, Kidney, weight management and children safety education. The Eliza pillars members partnered with Mississippi Kidney Foundation to provide kidney screening in April 2016 with more than 150 participants. This event was well attended.
